Starchild bribe blogger, caught red-handed
They did it again. After raging Pani Poni fans who bought DVDs hoping for second season with the new OVA in a DVD box, seems like everything has been going to well recently on their side, so they decided to bribe the bloggers into promoting Natsu no Arashi.
A Cat, Negima! and Seiyū-san blog reported that Starchild, an anime department of King Records, now inviting (Japanese) bloggers to join the PayPerPost-like program, which the blogger will get a ¥1,000 Amazon Coupon in return for each article published. Although they said the content could be written freely, I really doubt it if someone will get money for saying “Natsu no Arashi PV is awful”.

Following the horrendous QUALITY RAGE for the Natsu no Arashi! PV, now this. I guess it really depends on person to see if this is a good thing or not, but for what I know, they’ve done a great job into killing the series even more. Good job, Starchild!
Bakemonogatari in New Anime Guidebook
Finally got a chance to read the interview between producer Iwakami Atsuhiro and the campaigner Takahashi Yuma in the New Anime Guidebook, thanks to my friend.
Interesting points:
- Storyboard for the first episode is already done. (Probably since February.)
- Producer Iwakami “when I saw the design work and storyboard, I thought ‘whoa,’ and ‘interesting!’.”
- Satoru Kousaki will responsible for both theme songs and soundtracks.
- Propaganda for Bakemonogatari will take a hint from Obama’s Presidental Campaign.
Producer Iwakami replied “…what’s that?” - “It’s gonna be long if I talk about it, so please look forward to the campaign.”
Not much to see here.
Natsu no Arashi PV in TAF 2009
Less than a month until the anime airs, lacking informations and all. Finally, we’ve been presented with the first promotional video for Natsu no Arashi from Tokyo International Anime Fair 2009.

From the look of it, it is very ef-ish which means Ōnuma Shin will be taking the assistant director seat beside Shinbō Akiyuki. I don’t really think ef colors are a good match to Natsu no Arashi, so I’m not very pleased with this PV. :(
Bakemonogatari PV1
Oh wait, seems like this blog is turning to be Bakemonogatari news site without me realizing. The promotional video for the series is now available in the official website. Unfortunately, it requires Internet Explorer because they rely on the DRM license predelivering feature of IE.

For what Bakemonogatari is about, I recommend you to read the Easternstandard’s Bakemonogatari entry and (ahem) my previous entry, also Wikipedia if you love spoilers. The staffs for the anime series are as following:
